Scott Heiman has been an investigator, interviewer for oral histories, and military history researcher for federal and international agencies for over a decade; and is a military veteran of over 25 year’s Service.  Specialising in the World War II battlefields of Papua New Guinea, Scott is also experienced in the wider Pacific and European Theatres of Operation.  His capacity to uncover and interpret battlefield archaeology is underpinned by his strong analytical, scientific, and military background.  He has worked extensively on-site with representatives of foreign governments, universities, local authorities, and village communities.  Scott has a unique combination of cultural sensibility, authority and field expertise which enables him to work effectively with stakeholders – and to support field teams – in a range of challenging and diverse conditions. Scott is equally at home ‘up to his armpits’ in maps, manuscripts, field notebooks and other archival material searching for the missing link that can turn fragments of war - into facts.
