The Heiman Hatchet comes with a para-cord braided handle. But if weight is no object, you might like to treat yourself to a hand-crafted handle from one of three Australian timbers - Redgum, Sassafrass or Spotted Gum. Removable as required to expose the hex-head spanner incorporated within the tang. These scales are a handle and can also be whittled to form tinder and kindling (think of a feather stick) so you’ll always have a dry source of ignition in an emergency situation. Treated with linseed oil to enhance weather resistance and ignition characteristics.
